Pet portraits

I love painting animals, and capturing the likeness of the animal you love.

My pet portraits are highly realistic and true to life. I aim to bring out the character of the individual pet, so you will have a treasured memory of them to keep forever.

Frequently asked questions

Will you paint my bird/horse/hamster/donkey/snake/gecko/...?

Yes! I don't limit myself to cats and dogs. Any pet you wish me to portray is welcome.

Do the reference photos of my pet need to be of high quality?

While a well lit and high quality photo helps to make the painting process easier and ensures I can really capture the likeness perfectly, I can work with a range of photos. If you send a few different pictures of your animal, we can discuss which would be best to use as the main reference, and I can see what your pet looks like from different angles and in different lighting situations.

How long does a pet portrait take from start to finish?

This depends on size and complexity. You can expect a minimum duration of 4 weeks for the smaller pieces. When you reach out to me with your idea, I will be able to give you a more specific estimate. Every painting is uniquely created by hand for you, and some aspects of the process can not be rushed. I will always work hard to ensure you get your piece as soon as possible!

How much does a pet portrait cost?

Prices start at €80,- for a mini. A painting of 18 x 24 cm would be €250,- (example: the horse painting on this page). Reach out to me with your idea, and I will be able to provide you with a quote.  â€‹

Is a down payment required to secure my commission?

Once we have discussed the possibilities and you have approved my sketch, I will provide a final quote. A 25% deposit is required to secure your commission before I start painting. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
